LOCATION: 591 St. Giles Road, West Vancouver, BC
SCHEDULE: Full-time, Monday–Friday 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
PAY:$30–$35 per hour, based on experience
POSITION: AMI Montessori Educator
About the opportunity
Birdhouse Montessori Childcare is seeking a caring, reliable, and qualified AMI Montessori Educator to join our team in West Vancouver. We are looking for someone who understands authentic Montessori practice, values each child’s independence, and enjoys working collaboratively in a respectful early learning environment.
Required qualifications
· Valid British Columbia Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate. An ECEA certificate alone does not meet the requirements for this position.
· AMI Montessori Primary / Casa (ages 3–6) Diploma.
· Good understanding of Montessori philosophy, child development, and the prepared environment.
· Current First Aid/CPR certification and eligibility to complete the required criminal record check.
· Clear communication, professionalism, dependability, and a collaborative approach to working with families and colleagues.
Key responsibilities
· Prepare and maintain a calm, organized, and engaging Montessori classroom.
· Observe and support children’s individual learning, independence, social development, and well-being.
· Provide appropriate Montessori presentations and guide children respectfully throughout the daily routine.
· Maintain child safety and follow BC childcare licensing requirements and centre policies.
· Collaborate with educators and communicate professionally with families.
