Montessori Training Centre of British Columbia Executive Director

Established in 1982, the Montessori Training Centre of BC (MTCBC) has proudly been providing AMI Teacher Training and Professional Development to Domestic and International Students pursuing their AMI Montessori Teaching Certification. The MTCBC is one of two AMI training centres in Canada, distinguishing itself as being one of very few AMI training centres offering dual certification (AMI/ECE), making our training programs very appealing to both International and Domestic students.
The MTCBC as a registered not for profit charitable organization in Canada, is seeking an Executive Director who will report directly to the Montessori Training Centre of BC’s Board of Directors, and will be responsible for the successful leadership and management of the Montessori Training Centre of BC according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
Education
- University degree preferred
- AMI Teacher Diploma(s);
- Business Administration training helpful
Work Experience
- Three or more years experience as a Montessori teacher preferred
- Business or school administration experience preferable
- Change management experience preferable
- Leadership experience essential
Working Conditions
- The Executive Director will be based in the Greater Vancouver Area and is able to work on site a minimum of three days/week. The Executive Director may create a hybrid work schedule in collaboration with MTCBC staff.
- The Executive Director will have a unique opportunity to transition into the role alongside the current Executive Director, who will offer administrative support, guidance and consultation.
- Executive Directors work a standard work week, but additionally will need to work evenings, weekends, and overtime hours to accommodate activities such as Board meetings, representing the training centre at public events, greeting guests and Course Instructors upon arrival in Vancouver, and escorting them to their accommodations.
